cycling a 10g tank


so i really dont know how long i should cycle my 10 gallon tank for. ive read that about 2 weeks since its a small tank, but some people tell me to wait 4 weeks. should i be patient?

the size of the tank doesn't determine the amount of time it takes a tank to cycle. Bacteria doesn't grow faster in one size tank than in another. depending on the method of cycling I would count on at least 6-8 weeks for the cycle. And remember to test daily for ammonia.

Size does not matter. Cycle should still take 4 weeks. Only way to tell is to test the water.

Cycle time depends on:
How much rock
whether rock is dry, cycled, or from a established tank
Sand - Dry or Live (Bagged Live sand in not good to use) (Seed Dry sand with Live sand from someones established tank)

at least 4 weeks from the beginning of n-cycle. Then at least another 12 weeks to have the tank stable(not mature).

Corals: Mushrooms, yellow polyps, zoanthids
