Clown fish

What do clown fish eat. I've been putting frozen brine shrimp in the tank with no luck What are some tricks for getting a new clown fish to eat if it's not.

brine usually gets any fish to eat, although not too nutritious, it's like candy. Try some flake food formulated specifically for clowns. How long have you had the clowns? Do they appear to be stressed?

You could try adding some garlic concentrate to the brine. It might entice them. You can get it at most LFS. Follow the instructions on the bottle.

Just be patient, sometimes new fish need some time to acclimate to a new tank. I agree that a good flake is better.

Pretty much anything I drop in.

I prefer frozen, or the newer gel, foods. I'll also feed small bits of raw shrimp, they love the treat. But they'll take flake and pellet food fine too.

Try not feeding for a few days, then offer a meaty food like a tine piece of shrimp. Usually gets them to start.

Jeff

Do you know if your Clown Fish came from a local breeder from the LFS.. or were wild cought.. Usually if they came from a local breeder in the store they would be in a seperate display not in the stock system.. At least mine didnt.. This is not to say that quality ORA brand clown fish dont come this way but there usually put in the stock display. but there usually labled..

Wild cought. Might take a few days to accept dry food. You can ask what the LFS what they were feeding.. Might need to QT these guys and run them threw prezapro to make sure they dont have internal parasites. Min.. I know Steelhead77 gunna chase me around on this.. at least its not about ich brother.. but internal parasites are a silent unknow and you cannot see them..

Since mine were from Locally Bred after about a Day the piglets.. bit my fingers off ever time i got near the tank literlly pellets, 2 types of flake, mysisd soked in selcon. oh the BBS is a great idea as well.. i do that about 1 time a week about 1/8 teaspoon eggs dont take much to feed my 10 g tank. but the nem goes nuts the zoa goes nuts and i even get a feeding response outa the monticap shoots ups it little filimats.
