purple tentacle

I have several of these growing out of my live rock what are they? they are like single tentacles that come start fat and come to one needlepoint? also how do i post pictures on rc?

Could be bristle or serpent stars. Are they somewhat spiny? Kinda sounds like bristleworms, but they're more reddish/maroon than purple. Pix would definitely help i.d. them.

Looks like the tentacles of some type of sponge. I have some light blue ones that grow out occassionally. Perfectly harmless & actually a good thing in your tank. Good luck!
