Brown Stick Like things popping up everywhere

All,
Can you help me? What are these brown stick like things popping up everywhere, even on my snails?

Are they stationary or do they move around the tank? Try to get a better picture.

They are Stationary and seem to be hardened - i looked online after Scuba Guy Ron said Vermetid Snails and it seems to me they might be Hydroid snails. That is the best pic i can get unfortunately - cell phone

+1. You can dig into their base with a pick to kill them, they generaly don't harm anything but can snag your net or sometimes irritate nearby corals.

I use a hypodermic needle and boiling water to kill them, then just break off the tube.

For sure vermatid snails. They suck! And they release stringy junk all over your tank. IMO they are the ugliest things in my tank. I have them on a couple snails as well as smack dab in the middle of a monti cap. I hate them with a passion.
