May need a new skimmer....any advice??
I moved my 46/w 15 sump to a 72/w 30 sump, equipment and all. The Aqua-C Urchin/maxi 1200 worked like a dream on my old tank, but now that it's on the new one all I get is a cup full of "apple juice" in about a day. Is there something I should try to troubleshoot or do I now have too much tank for my skimmer. If I need to upgrade to a better one, does anyone have any suggestions? I'm looking for a good in-sump skimmer with a small footprint that won't break the bank, preferably under 200 bucks.

All I ever got out of my Urchin was a cup of apple juice a day...no matter how I adjusted it. Some people love them, but I could never get it going.
I gave up and sold it. I got an Octopus NWB-100 and I love it.

I would look at the SWC150BMK, I have one on my 40br and it works great. I'm also planning on using it when I uprade to 75 as its good for 90 heavy stocked.
Or if you want to spend alittle more the SWC160 cone |
