Question about Acropora Polyps
I've noticed that during the day the polyps sticking out of my acropora coral aren't as numerous as at night?
Is that normal? It seems like the all the polyps come out during the actinic light / lights off period whereas most come out during the day, but not all. |

Yes, normal, SPS corals eat/hunt more actively at night therefore higher PE. Polyp Extension.
but there are many many different arguments over this, Polyp of SPS is also their lungs, so one could say they extend it more when less oxygen is available, AKA nights. ! some think the bright lights makes the SPS pull in their polyps ... but any ways, it is normal to get more PE at night than day |
