250 Plusrite

I want to try the plusrite bulbs but I don't know whether I want the 14000K or the 20000K. Does anyone have and experience or pictures of the plusrite? I don't want yellow but I also not need radium blue (because I have atinics). Thoughts?

Thanks

Randall

They are garbage. If you have a reef with sps please buy better bulbs.

i agree ^^. dont waste your money on them. Spend the little extra and get something that is going to give you good color and growth.

One of my 6 week old IceCap 20k bulbs burned out and I though I would give one a try. A lot yellower than the Icecap 250w DE bulb. I'm going to be able to use a Par meter in the next week or so. I'm curious how the par is.

The Plusrite 14k 250 DE bulb :6" down was 350 par ,12" down was 257 par and 24" down was 120 par.
The iceap 20k bulb was : 6" down 290, 12" down 356, 24" down wa 146 par. I have Coralvue Ballast. The ice cap bulb has a better look but it is 20k. Also it is had to compare because a slight movement with where the Par meter is looking make a large difference. The Plusrite seems pretty good for the price. The color seems to be off. Maybe more like a 10 to 12k . I think that when it is time to change bulbs again I will go back to Hamilton bulbs. I really like the look of the Icecap 20k bulb. But even if they were still in bussiness I would not buy one again.
