plse help identify
early this morning i went to my tank and turned on the magnifying glass to check out night time action in my tank.
i saw a snake like animal, just the body, tan in color disappearing into the sand. the part of the body i saw looked similar to a snakes belly but tan colored, i saw it for maybe 2 seconds and then it was gone. i did not see a head or limbs and it was about an eighth of a inch in diameter. does this sound familiar to anyone? thanks |

sounds like a marine worm of some sort. No chance on a positive ID though with the limited information.
just do some image googling. Try marine ribbon worm, bristle worm, etc. |

no possibility of pic
i did google ribbon worm, ty. i think that is the right track. i know a pic would help but the probability of that happening is next to nothing. that is why i posted the question!
so, i think ribbon worm is the answer i was looking for ty very much. |

Did you read about them? You may want to get rid of it if it's a eunicid worm, they can get very big and aggressive. I have a couple of smaller eunicid worms in my tank that I keep a close eye on. Mine are the rock dwelling kind and have not bothered anything yet, but I have read some accounts of them being quite nasty.
