fish help

my current setup is the 29g biocube hqi i have a talbots damsel, a tomato clown, and a new addition a golden head sleeper goby. i know they are recommended for a 50 gallon but my tank parameters are great, and i have a seeded refugium. Also my lfs said he would do fine in my tank as long as i dont have any other fish. the only problem i am having is my damsel is attacking him so he is hiding a lot and trying to come out but wont stop getting attacked. I am afraid he will die if hes stuck in his hiding spot so is there any way they can get along or should i take the damsel out of the tank?

I think once you remove the damsel the tomato clown will go after it. IMO, you are better off returning the goby - if possible, that tank is just too small for one.

Yeah, and as the tomato clown matures, it will become a very aggressive female. Big clowns like this claim a lot of territory and you don't have much. When grown, this clown will probably not let any new fish in the tank. IMO, removing the damsel is a good step, they are usually mean little SOBs that will attack anything.

+1, you have two MEAN Hombres in that tank that will not allow other fish to invade "their" tank. I strongly recommend research BEFORE you purchase. In the long run, if you want additional fish in your tank both the damsel and the clown will need to be removed.

+1 to the mean fish. I cannot figure out for the life of me why a LFS would sell a damsel without telling someone they're the most aggressive mean fish there are, basically once a damsel gets set in a tank, there are very few fish you can add that it won't terrorize.

The tomato clown will give the damsel a good battle, she has a size advantage, but my money is still on the damsel. I was attacked repeatedly by a damsel scuba diving, they know no fear!

and i bet petstores buy damsels for like $.50 each and sell them for $5, the only people buying them are hobby noobies who usually end up losing them and coming back for more to cycle, and at the very least learn from. not saying thats a bad thing, i had to learn the hard way with just about every type of fish you can put in a reef. never again will i play with damsels, tangs, angels, hawkfish, puffers, ugh too many to name. theres always an exception somewhere but i just dont bother anymore, lost too many corals
