pump issues, Askoll 1500 for huricone skimmer

Hello all,
I am having some issues with my skimmer pump it is an askoll 1500 which I believe is the same as a laguna. It suddenly decreased its output signifigantly. It seems to work fine just not as strong (and not enough to generate skimmate.) I previously had to tweak it continuously so it did not overflow the collection cup. I soaked it in vinegar water overnight, then dissasembled it and cleaned it out, still nothing. I cannot find any sort of adjustment on it anywhere. It is not making any unusual noise or vibration, I never let it run dry. Very strange. None of the pins are broke. I tried it on several different plugs, no change. I am going to buy another just to have a backup, but i feel i am missing something simple. Thanks in advance.

Is the impeller slipping on the shaft?
