What RO/DI unit to buy for setup.

Good morning !

I tried using the search button; but looks like I need to figure it out a bit better.. I figure i'd ask here.

I'm looking to start up a reef with sps/softies as an ultimate goal in a 50-70g, however, before that I want to get back into things with a 29g nano as we are moving soon.

Question is; What RO/DI unit would you recommend getting? I've never owned one of these so I don't even know where to start looking.

Thanks !

I like Airwaterice Reefkeeper line of RODI or the filter guys, give them a call both will walk you through the unit and get you hooked up with what you need.

I'm a big fan of Bulk Reef Supply's 5 stage, and there a great company to deal with.

The big thing to keep in mind is the cost of replacement filters and media, that way my main concern, most of these units are equal in quality 0tds is 0tds so the things to consider are initial startup cost and replacement media cost.

Also. If you are at all concerned about the ratio of waste water to good water, get an efficient unit. My vertex is a 1:1.5 when some of the cheaper ones are 1:3 or even 1:4. (they waste 4 gallons for every one made. To make 100 gallons it takes 500 gallons of water, 400 going to waste, when mine waste 1.5 gallons for every gallon I make. To make 100 gallons it takes 250 gallons. Only 150 if it being waste)
