loose phosphate media in my fuge

I replaced the media in my phosphate reactor last week and it looks like some of the pellets made it past the filter pads and into my fuge. Theres a small but noticeable amount sitting on the bed of my fuge. Should I try to remove this or is it harmless?

I see I am not the only one who loses media. Few weeks back my purigen filter mesh bag ripped and I had purigen everywhere!

If it's just a little it should be fine and nothing to worry about. But most media's once exhausted will start to leach back into the water. See what you can do to remove it, if you dont get it all dont worry about it.

Actually carbon will leach stuff back into the water, but Phosban advertises it won't. I'd say look up the specs, but since all these GFO media are 'granulated ferrous oxide' I'd bet on it being safe. I would net out what I could reach and not worry about the rest.

Fortunately it's only in my fuge and I should be able to get it out little by little.
