Has anyone used the ATI PURPLE Plus T5 HO florescent bulbs?

I'm looking for bulbs and came across the ATI Purple Plus T5 HO. I've never seen or heard of this. Has anyone used this?

does it compare to the KZ Figi Purple, by any chance? I'm looking for 54w 48" bulbs.

I'm running on my cube. They seem similar. However, I think the Figi's are a bit more pink than the Purple Plus.

Almost identical to fiji purps except like said bove, the fiji's are a little more pink.

They are definitely NOT the same bulb, and this has been confirmed by Sylvania, the company that manufactures both bulbs. KZ and ATI spec the bulbs and Sylvania actually produces them. There was an article on another website but I am not sure of what the rules are to linking here...

They say they're not the same, but look and perform the same. I can't tell the difference between the 2, so I'll save a few $ and got with the P+

I currently have a Purple Plus in my setup.

I was told by reefgeeks that it's the same as the KZ Fiji Pink...just cheaper. I've never tried the KZ but the Purple Plus is awesome.

My set is:

ATI Blue Plus
ATI Purple Plus
UV Super Actinic
ATI Blue Plus

Many people would think this is a very blue set up...but it's not.

The Purple Plus is a very BRIGHT bulb and the Super Actinic is simply a dim purple bulb that adds a purple highlight.

The color is awesome!!!

I'm running all ATI: 2xBlue Plus, 1xPurple Plus, 1x Aquablue Special.

When I first added the Purple Plus, I thought that the tank had too much of a reddish tinge to it. Now that it's been running for a couple of months, I love it.

It seems to me that someone (Grim Reefer?) published spectral charts of the Purple + and Fiji. They appeared to be identical.

Rybren or donkeys4hire, would either or you be willing to share a full tank shot? I am thinking about buying the exact bulb combo you are using and just want to get a better idea of what the color of the tank will be. thanks.

I do...

I tried 3x Blue Plus and 1x Purple Plus and I thought it was too blue...felt like the actinics were on all day.

If you look above a few post...someone posted a few pics of 2x Blue Plus, 1x Purple Plus and 1x Aquablue Special. Like I stated earlier...it's just too white of a hue...

I'm truly happy with my color hue and think it's awesome!

I don't have a good camera that could grab the color of my tank...but there's a thread that has the same color combo I do (where I actually got it from). I'll see if I can post it.

For a four bulb setup, I really like

blue+
fiji purp
fiji purp
blue+

Everything pops and great par (my bta turned from a rose color to a fire orange!). I have tried every bulb and combo there is, this one is the best imo. I really disliked the aquablue in a four bulb setup, it totally washes out the colors.

Okay...

Here's the post I looked at that made me decide to go with my bulb combo:

http://www.pbmas.org/board/index.php?showtopic=4647

The second pic is a good idea as to how it looks. Mine tank is actually a tad bit more bright.

I have 6 on top of my 90g and run the following combo. I definitely prefer a bluish tint, and get that with this combo. I like it a lot.

FRONT
ATI Purple Plus
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Aquablue Special
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus
ATI Blue Plus

If you want a less blue setup, you could replace one of the Blue Plus with a GE 6500k or add a second Aquablue Special.

Here's a pic of the bulb colors. FRONT is LEFT in the pic. I'll get an FTS tonight so you can see the tank colors.
