RO Membrane Upgrade Kits

I'm looking at the BRS 150 gpd membrane upgrade kit. I know some of you have it or another brand. The BRS site has very positive reviews, but I'd like to hear from a larger forum. If you have one (any brand), let me know if it was a good investment.

Unless you have a huge tank there is no need for 150gpd.

Not necessarily, it's all about time as well. You can make twice the amount of water in 1/2 the time.
Also, you'll get a lot less rejected water.

In order for this to work correctly, you have to have 65psi (I believe). If you don't have this much pressure, you can add a booster pump (additional cost) to achieve this.

i have the brs 150 kit along with the booster pump set at 65 psi(have a well and dont keep the pressure set that high) and it makes a water stream that shoots a few feet. i love the speed it makes water

Just don't forget its running. You absolutely have to have float valves on the end of whatever your filling.

Anyone using one of these kits at 60psi? If so, how does it perform? Just trying to avoid using booster pump. I've been told by the vendor that 60psi would be fine, but not much lower than that. If they tell people 65, they ask for 60; 60 they ask for 55 etc.......

My pressure is right around 65 & couldn't be happier with the 150gpd membrane. Much faster than the old 75 & seems to last just as long.

My water pressure with a booster is 69, and I'm happy with my 150 gpd membrane as well. Then again I have a 150g so it's very worth it for me.

Current Tank: Vortech Powered 600G SPS Tank w/ 100gal frag tank & 100g Sump. RK2-RK10 Skimmer. ReefAngel. Radium 20k.
