I have two 1400s on a reefkeeper with wave function. They make an annoying thump when they come on. There is a rubber peg inside the pump that the blade slams into to make it spin in the right direction. Seems to bother my clowns that hang out near the pump sometimes.

I have two 1400's running for 4 months with the RKL on my tank. One clicks and the other doesn't. The critters get use to it (at least in my tank). Cheap way to get wave motion.
So far.... |

I tried using a couple 1400's on an Apex without success. Both would run for a couple weeks, then seize due to calcium deposits. It got old having to remove and clean pumps every 2 weeks.

I use them with my RKL on wave timer mode. They are quiet when running but they do "click" on startup every now and then.

Also, for the money, you can't beat the water movement that these things do. I have a 24" high tank and 48" long, and the koralia is pointed at a 45 degree upwards about 6" below the surface of the water and I get an undertow on the other side of the tank with the 1400.
