Question on coraline algae

coraline is growing great on glass but i've noticed on top twelve inchestheres none about the same level as my water change line does coraline die when it hits air? and it makes the tank look silly

no not really i have a 120 in wall system and i installed the drain next to the tank to make water changes and i like to do 35% changes every 2 weeks

that's funny i had the same thing with my 70g where the top 6" or so would have a complete stop in growth of coraline algae. I think that's where my waterline stopped during water changes as well. i always thought maybe it was due to the light being too intense so it stops growing there but you may have a point with the "being exposed to air" thing
