overflow tubes

i keep getting air in siphon tubes to the point of breaking siphon whats the problem water level above tubes at least 3" on both sides return pump in bottom of 55 gal sump i have to remove air bubble at least 1 time a week

could be not enough flow through there. i have probably around 700 gph going through mine and don't have any air bubbles building up. hoow much flow do you have and what kind of overflow are you using?

Yes knowing brand and style of overflow/ and pump is needed. U tube overflows need a pump strong enough to purge bubbles. CPR or tidepool stlyes need additional pumps to do the same thing.

those aren't siphons, they look like hofer gurgle busters. Siphons don't have an air line.

U-tube overflows are just as prone to trapping bubbles as weir style overflows.
I have a CPR on my DT and a U-tube on my refugium.
I run aqualifters on both.

YES you are correct the picture dont show the siphon tubs but i use two utubs and every 3-4 days have to remove air in the tubs

To use one of these on a U-tube just drill a small hole just past the top of the U-tube (more toward the back side) and insert/glue a small nipple.
The ones that come with these work well.
