Nano Live Rocks, Hurt or Helps?

Does nano live rocks hurt or help the filtration system if placed in the sump.

My sump has a low flow rate. The compartment where the live rocks are kept looks really dirty and fill of detritus. Should i remove the rubble rocks? Does this cause nitrate problems?

I don't like to let detritus build up too much in my sump. If you're seeing a build up around the live rock, Grab a powerhead and attach piece of vinyl tubing to the intake side of the pump. It helps if you have about 6 feet of tubing. Drop the powerhead in a bucket and plug it in. Stick the vinyl tubing down in between the rocks and suck out the gunk.

I do it every couple months. But there's no rock in my sump, so it's easy to get at it. It collects in 2 different corners.
