The Tank Building Begins!!!!
Well the glass cages glass is in and so the 100 gallon wide built begins! Here is a few pics from tonight and i will continue updating as the build does on. If you have any questions please ask away. Thanks
Steffen Sparks Just like painting prepping is key. Everything is cleaned in acetone for best bond possible. Silicone is applied. Will let this sit over night tell i do the other side. Tape will be removed before it is allowed to cure. |

Pedro--When you have the glass just shipped, it is FAR less expensive then if you have them build it. You can save about 1/2 to 2/3rds the cost if you build it yourself. Plus the other advantage is you control the quality.

Just to let you guys know the cornering squares are not from harbor freight. It has actually been awhile since i have been there. lol But a million zip ties or a pallet of electrical tape of a buck is hard to beat.
Steffen Sparks Justin i might be interested in your squares. Your orange didgs is starting to color up just a little bit. |

Here are the tanks side by side as you can see mine is just a hair taller since all the sides are sitting on the bottom piece oppose to glass cages where they are connect on the side.
I contact Glass Cages since they did not send me the bottom Euro Brace!!! It will probably be safe enough to use it as is but not going to risk it. I hope they ship out the glass soon because glass companies here want an arm and leg for glass and look shocked when you ask about 3/8 or 1/2 inch glass. lol Steffen Sparks |

There is also be a strict protocol on what goes into the frag tank as well. Everything will be dipped and Quarantine with the exception of ORA. The tank will consist of SPS, LPS, and Zoa. I will probably build a separate system for Nems and Leathers on down the road. If you have anymore question please post them up. I will probably be posting about the mistakes that i made or stuff i would have done a little different. Thanks Steffen Sparks |

To get the one built by GC (my dimensions 48 x 30 x 18 w/3/8" thick glass) to give you an idea, rimless would be around $600, regular tank (w/support brace at top and bottom) is $675 (closest dimensions i could find). You can save 1/2 to 2/3rds the cost if you purchase the glass only depending on thickness of glass and length. If you don't mind a little elbow grease and some DIY, this is the way to go.

Andy's tank was 442 plus 120 in shipping. Also the tanks will need to be drilled and also have the overflows installed. Thanks Steffen Sparks |
