got a used remora skimmer - think i need less pump

i picked up a used remora skimmer for cheap and i think its the "pro" size for 50-120 gallons.. didnt really realize this till now..

the remora mid sized is for 20-75gal i think the only difference is its a couple inches shorter, inch narrower, bout an inch skinnier, and it uses a maxijet 1200 instead of a larger rio or mag drive pump the pro comes with (mine has a pretty large pump attached)

not really sure if the plumbing is the same size?

i should be able to just hook up a mj1200 and let this run on my 20 gallon ? i plan to move to a 40 breeder in the future and was hoping to use this on both

thanks good info. i have a spare maxijet 900, im just not sure if the air injector in the pro size needs more flow to operate correctly or what or if the plumbing is larger etc..

basicly need to know if the mj900 or 1200 will provide enough flow for the pro size skimmer to operate correctly

I tried a maxijet 900 on a regular remora and it would not work. I think you would be wasting your time on the pro. As far as the 1200 goes, not sure but kinda doubt it would work either.

weird, id think that would of worked

from the pdf manual im thinking im out of luck though, both the nano and regular sizes mention connecting the pump to the 1/2" tubing but the pro says connect pump to the 3/4" tubing, so im guessing the pro uses 3/4" plumbing and the others use 1/2" - maybe the "air injector" it self is designed to work with the pump output it comes with only not much more or less. just my guess.

i was thinking if i hook up a mj1200 it might not flow enough for the air injector or whatever it is to produce enough micro bubbles. probly just gona try it anyways.
