Moving tank with Mandarin

I will be moving soon, about 30 minutes away. My tank is almost 1 year old with a lot of copepods. what would be the best way to transfer the tank without losing copepods and starving the mandarin

Red face

How old is the mandy? This could be the time you could try training it to accept frozen mysis.

Most of your pods are on the rock. You just want to keep the time the rock is out of water to a minimum. I'd be shooting for 30 min in your position.

It may take some time for your pod population to recover after a move. I would buy some pods after the move and seed the tank. I would look into training the mandarin to accept frozen PE mysis shrimp to keep it alive. I had to do this with my Target and he now eats them a couple times a day for me. There is some threads here on RC that address training a Dragonette.

a wad of cheato often comes in loaded with pods: if you don't have a fuge, set up one and you'll be fine.

That's a really good point - for less money you get chaeto and pods. Chaeto can even come with extras like mysid shrimp.
