Weird skimmate
Mine started out light tea colored, now it's green, almost florescent.

Why would I get an algae bloom in a tank that's been up for at least 2yrs., fed the same.

Are you dosing anything? Many moons ago I would dose "trace elements", which had a blue/green color to it -- my skimmate would be that color shortly after wards.

Do you have a fuge with pods?
Are you feeding phytoplankton?

Pics of the system and skimmate would help.
Sounds like algae spores in the water column. Are you skimming wet? And do you have a fuge with macro algae? Could be from a die off of macro in the column. If you're skimming wet that's fine and the spores will be taken out at a faster rate.

This happened to me when I started feeding forumla one more heavily (green in color). Changing the carbon 'fixed' it.
