2 questions. Non related

1.when a shrimp molts is it important to get the old stuff out?I see it but it's wedged between rocks and think it's impossible to get too.this won't produce ammonia right???

2.I have. A qt tank and I try to plan ahead either with products or knowledge. So I'm prepared for the worst.when you have a fish with ick I'm planning to lower the salinity and raise heats to 80 deg.I'm also going to treat with copper.after 4 weeks of being ick free how would I put him back into the main tank without getting copper in main tank.

1) leave it. Crabs and snails will get it for you.

2) Fish don't hold copper. Follow the instructions on the bottle to the letter. Keep all fish out of the display for 6-8 weeks, not just the one that looks ill.

^^^what he said^^^
but...

pick one treatment and stick with it. Hyposalinity can work, as can copper. Both are stressful to the fish. Using both is just asking for trouble. Oh - and raising the temp to 80 will not do a thing.

i read some where that the temp at 80 deg will slow down the parasite from reproducing.something like that.
