GFO Question

Ok so I have a quick question. What type of connector do I need to hook up one of BRS's GFO/Carbon reactor to a half inch pvc pipe? plus can I run the GFO and carbon in the same reactor at the same time?

brs has videos on the reactors and the gfo and carbon, you should watch them.

I just did a similar plumbing job but from 1" PVC. You will need two pieces of plumbing, both of which I found at my local home depot.

First you need a PVC fitting: 1/2" female adapter. This will have a female pvc slip fitting on one end which you will glue onto your existing 1/2" pvc pipe. The other end will have 1/2" female pipe threads which you will connect to the second fitting.

The second fitting you need is a quick connect adapter: 1/2" quick connect adapter. This will have 1/2" male pipe threads on one end that you will screw in to the first pvc adapter above. The other end will have a quick connect push fitting that will connect to the tubing that comes with the brs reactor.

Piece of cake.

You can run carbon and GFO in the same reactor (GFO on the bottom and carbon on top separated by sponges), but it is not the ideal way to run them because they perform better at different flow rates and do not need to be changed out at the same frequency.

Hope that helps
