I haven't used that kit, so I can't help much. You might want to contact the manufacturer if no one else can help.

With my red sea magnesium test kit (worse kit ever IMO), you add part C slowly, while swirling until it starts to turn from pink to purple.. don't stop at this point, keep adding part c, it will turn back to pink, and eventually turn purple again, then blue/grey. This is the most correct value (when compared to salifert). I was misreading this test kit which caused me to WAY overdose mag. Good thing high mag is pretty benign.

I have this test kit. I drop the part C until it gets purple. Then I slow down and add 1 drop at a time, until it gets almost real blue. I take note when this happens and add 1 more drop, check if its more blue, I look against the light where its easy to spot pinkish/purplish color. I add more until I see it's completely blue. I then compare end result with the one I had noted and work out end result, something in between.

But it doesn't really need to be very specific, Mag can't be overdosed, it's good as long as it's more than 1300. My Mag for example is now at 1800 but I had it at 2000 for two weeks, this is because I am fighting Bryopsis. Some inverts/snails do not like higher Mag, I have lost one Bumble Bee, the other 3 are fine, so are the Turbos and Hermits.
