Skimmer?

What're some options for a 50 gallon nano skimmer? I plan on keeping two clownfish, two mandarins, and sps. I found an ASM skimmer rated for 75 gallons. I have an octopus on my 120 reef, and I love it. But what is the best new thing I can get for a little 50 gallon tank?

thanks,
Matt

The asm mini G is okay but mine was loud. Couldn't get the little rio pump to quiet down. It skimmed decent but not great. I assume you're running a sump since you've looked at the asm's. You may want to check out the bubble magus NAC6, Tunze 9011 or swc 160 cone. They are rated for much bigger tanks but perform really well on systems that size.

Not that it means much but my choice in order would be:

Budget and sump space allowing!
Tunze 9011 (very small footprint)
SWC 160 cone
Bubble Magus NAC6A

SWC makes the 120 but it is inconsistant IME.

There are others I can recommend but you may want to check these out first.

Happy Reefing

Tivo
