re-scaping suggestions/help

Hi,

I want to rescape my DT but this time i want to use macro/dry rock and join them using pvc/cement.

Currently i have 100lbs of live rock that's been established and running. My question is how/what would be the best way to introduce and replace the existing LR with the new rock into my DT?

I was going to throw the macro/dry rock in a tub with a piece from my DT to seed. Add a powerhead or two and heater. Would i need a skimmer?

Once that is done, i'm sort of unsure of the next steps. Is it safe to just pull my rock from my DT and put the new ones in? Will I introduce a mini cycle?

Anyone with exp. would be appreciated.
