Maricyn vs cyano. Need some info

So I decided to battle a cyano issue with maricyn (also now feeding less and changed water flow). Today is the end of my 5 day dozing of maricyn. All cyano appears to be gone! I did a 25% water change and added carbon. Tried to turn on the skimmer and of course it went nuts... Even running all the way open it just fills the cup in minutes.... At what point will the skimmer start working again? Will the carbon remove whatever is causing the skimmer to freak out or do I need another water change? Any advice is appreciated.

Well I'll update in the hopes someone might benefit from it in the future.

Over the course of 5 days I dosed 5 packets of maricyn daily to my 225 gallon reef with 80 gallon sump. The cyano vanished and no coral or livestock seemed to be affected.

Day 6 I did my regular 40 gallon water change and added carbon to the sump. The skimmer was freaking out so bad when I turned it on (must have it off while dosing) that I had to only run one of it's two pumps and dial it back all the way. Over the next two days I kept adjusting the skimmer back to normal and it is now working fine.

Glad to be cyano free. Now to figure out better flow without sending my fine sand all over the tank!

Give it 7 days or maybe longer. I doubt your skimmer is broken, so you'll be fine.

Any updates on whether the cyano returned? Also, could Marycin-Oxy be used? Lastly, anyone know the differnece between Marycin and "Red Slime Remover"? Thanks!
