LED coverage calculator?

Hello everyone, not sure if i sould post this here or in the DIY section, but i'll try here =P (if its wrong, please move the thread to the correct section =D thanks)

Well I'm sure i saw a LED coverage calculator link here on RC somewhere, but i cant seem to find it, anyone got the link, or got something similair? I want to know how much coverage i get from LEDs (cree XP-Gs) with 40° Optics, the height is 2 feet. how much would one LED cover/ how much light would reach there? (par?) or is that only known with testing?

Thanks

Oskar

Yep, or atleast there was =/ But if i remembered right, it was for XR-E leds. and i also think the "main" usage for it were to calculate how close the desired amount of leds should sit to Cover your specific area. but im not sure...

Or maybe someone with a led build in progress, with XP-G leds (and maybe some kind of optics) could test and measure the area lit up (like fully lit up, not the spreadings around)

I maybe should mention, this is for a led build and i would like to know how far apart the leds can sit, without creating the (feared) spotlighting... and also how far they can sit without loosing to much par from overlapping leds.

I did LED coverage calculator in MS Excel, but it is not very user friendly. It calculates lux levels for optics at certain depth. I spent tens of hours to build it, because I was updating it all the time to impove it. Unfotunately I do not time and skills (to long from University) to rewrite and complie it to application.

I have attached three examples for XP-E RB ( I assumed 60lux as perfomance, because for RB it is in mW) at three distances from LEDs. There are simulated 56 leds in triangular grid.
