Condy and BTA in the same tank?
30g tank
twin 96 watt florescent 10 000k I've had a condy for a little over a month now and his disk or body has gone from golf ball to softball. Hes really happy was super bleached and now purple/pinky. I have added a golf ball sized bubble tip nem that was told over and over by the LFS would be fine... now I've read mixed reviews. Both still look really good. the BTA has attached in a good area close to the top were there is lots of light and good flow and about a foot away from the condy. What are your opinions? and what are signs of chemical warfare? Next year all my fish friends will be moving into a new 75g tank which i know 2 nems would be better suited in. would they survive this long? |

My only concern would be for any fish other than clowns if you have any, due to lack of swim space/stinging.
Keep in mind condy's have a stronger sting, and they can even zap a clown pretty good. As for mixing the 2 many do, but that is a tight space/not much water volume. I'd be running carbon for sure.

I've never seen any affect on fish myself, but I have seen things like mushies or frogspawn close up when my nems walked into each other. Just recently I scrubbed some blue clove polyps off a rock, noticed same thing, so they do release something the others don't like. Again though, no signs of fish stress.
