refuse question

I have a eshopps 100 or 20 gallon sump which came with a sponge for micro bubbles but I know if I kept the sponge in the sump I nitrates could explode. So I but in some baffles but never thought about seperating the baffles out enought to put in a refusium. So,,,,I put cheato inbetween the baffles where the sponge would be and the cheato is doing great and now I am getting a very minor water fall effect, I am guessing from not having enough room to grow out, there growing towards each other basically forming another form of filtration. Phosphates are 0 because All water has to flow through the cheato. Is there anything wrong with this set up?

That depends on what would happen if the Chaetomorpha area gets blocked up completely. I'd be careful about this sort of setup. A picture might help a lot.

if you look at a eshopps sump...where the sponge filter sets into...about 4 inches deep and about the same wide and side to side. I can't emagine it to plug. I could only see that if one side got pluged and there would be an increase of water flow on the other side which I couldn't emagine it to plug.

If it's not going to plug, I wouldn't worry.
