Quick qt question
Hello im just setting up a little qt and wanted more advice(yes ive used the search)
My main tank has ich and is now fishless. On the other threads everyone says use water from your main tank. Can i do that? Do i add that water and treat the empty qt with something? |

Yes, you can add DT water into your QT tank.

yes i would as its the same as in your tank so there would never be the need to acclimate thus reducing stress

The first fill of the qt it's fine, going forward don't add anything else from the DT or you could be possibly transferring ich to the qt.

There are three stages of ich: there is the cyst stage where you see it on the fish, then there is the egg stage where it is on the substrate waiting to hatch, then there is the free swimming stage where it is looking for a host. And then it starts all over again until it's life cycle is over.
