Reef Tank w/Pics!

Here is a picture of our Reef Tank
It's a 90 gallon tank and we are running
a Rapids Pro 3 pump and an AquaticLife Lighting System.

If anyone has any feedback please tell us. We are still new to this hobby!

No offense meant....but with all that different rock....it works......looks crazy but cool at the same time.......diggin it.

i would move some of the rock around to make caves and tunnels for your fish to swim through. it kinda looks like you just dumped all the rock on top of each other. oh and make sure to take your time if this is your first time trying a saltwater tank. i made the mistake of rushing my first setup and let me tell you its not worth it. patience is key. gl and welcome to rc

I like it. Looks like a great start!

How long has it been setup?

I have never heard of that of that filtration system until now. Are you using the bioballs, etc that came with the filter? How does the skimmer perform?

I do like the scape but I think it would help to "unstack" them a bit to allow better water flow over and through the rocks. This will help prevent detritus from settling. Also I only see one powerhead (aquaclear?). You might want to consider adding some more flow.

looks good but i would have to agree with opening it up alittle letting more water pass through it. could cause some unwanted issues later on..other then that like the mixed rock look..

You may have to add more flow with addition of some powerheads.

Looks good, I agree that opening up the rockwork would enhance the over all look of the tank.

looks good! I agree with others on getting another powerhead for flow. I really like the new koralia evos. I have 2 1400s in my tank and I'm planning on 2 more.

Also is that a stealth heater? I would seriously consider getting a different one as a lot of people have had those explode on them. They were actually recalled. I use marineland visitherm heaters since they are glass. Others really like jager heaters and titanium as well. Also I would put the heater in the sump if you can fit it. It just cleans up the display a little.

Other than that, I really like the aquascape with the different rocks!

looks good you just need to open up that rock work. you want to create holes in the rock work not olny for the fish to swim through but to keep water flowing around the rock.

I really like my koralia evos too. Also I would go for the titanium heaters wen my stealth heaters died I went for titanium with controllers . I agree on opening up the rockwork.

Thanks for all the feedback, seeing that we are new at this we need all the help we can get.
We got the tank from a kid that is getting delployed overseas, he had to get rid of everything before he left. He had the tank set up for a few months before passing it on to us. So we kind of got thrown into this very quickly. Guess there is no better way to learn. This webpage has helped ALOT!!!!
