new ATI T5 bulbs
I recently added new bulbs to my 4x24 setup. I went with (front to back) blue plus, purple plus, aquablue, blue plus. However, when I turn all of the bulbs on, only the 2 exterior blue plus seem to give off much color, the aquablue and purple plus almost look like white bulbs. Is this normal, and the 2 interior bulbs are just overwhelmed with the extremely bright color of the blue plus, or do I have a problem?
Thanks |

I believe aquablue is actually a white bulb. Why they call it that? Don't know.

I just ordered new ATI bulbs as well from BRS. According to their website the aquablue are white bulbs, they don't say whether or not the purple plus actually "look" purple.
Question about replacing bulbs, I've read you change one bulb at a time so it's not a drastic change to your tank. How long do you wait between swapping bulbs, a day, two days, a week? Apologies for hijacking your thread ebojo! |

The Purple Plus actually looks purple.
I run 1 Purple+, 4 Blue+, and 1 GE 65K. |

yes the aquablue special is the white bulb. I run 4x blue+ and 2x Aquablue specials over my 75g. I think its a great color mix. I used to have a KZ fiji purple instead of one of the aquablue's but I found it pretty much useless

yeah aquablue is a white bulb with a slight blue spectrum. I'll probably think the same thing when I change my bulbs as well. Although I do have white daylight bulbs (10000k) right now and I HATE them. can't wait to get my ATIs

I have the exact same combo. The aquablue is white. The two blue plus are blue. When I have those two on alone you can really tell. I like the combo because, while the purple doesn't really look that purple, it adds the balance I like. Without it the tank looks almost sterile. I know some people like the blue/clean white look, but I prefer a little color. Absolutely nothing wrong with the other combo, just my personal preference.
