Vita-chem --> Are white particles normal?

Just got some Vita-chem and using it filled my tank with white particles.

Is this normal? They seem to be slowly dissipating. Either dissolving or being skimmed out - or something.

Yes, I shook it before using. And it was still sealed.

Did I get an expired bottle maybe?

I had it ordered for me and I have a feeling the 3rd rate shop I went to may have just pulled this from some old stock at a buddies place or something.

Ok just got this...

Quote:
The white 'flakes' are particles of fatty acids that have solidified out of re formula. They will dissolve into the aquarium water and are beneficial to any fishes health if eaten. This can happen at times but is still ok to use. We pack a lot of nutrition into a concentrated formula.

So, it's not normal, but it's ok. Just won't be as potent in the fatty acids department. Fortunately, I needed the vitamins.

So if anyone else experiences this there's your answer.

not to hijack yr thread but.....

i mistakenly bought Vita-chem fresh water instead of the Marine. Would this have an adverse effect on my system?

I havent used it as yet but returning it is not an option.

Is there an expiration date printed on the bottle?

no exp date on bottle.

I'm assuming freshwater would have an entirely different balance of vitamins, etc than marine. But i have no clue.
