what kind of epoxy/glue can I use to build a grate to protect fish from overflow box

I have a grate that just lays ontop of my over flow box to keep fish from being sucked into it while they sleep, scared they could get sucked into the drain pipe itself in the future. Last night my tomato clown was sucked on top of the grate and couldnt get off and is not doing great now.

I am wondering what kind of glue to use to build a grate that would keep the fish away from the strong suction of the overflow box.

Thought if I could build one out and away and up far enough from the overflow box it would do the trick. Please let me know if Im wrong in thinking this. Im lost right now lol.

If there is already such a thing to buy Id be greatly appreciative to know where to get one or any suggestions on what to use as the grate or glues to use would ne awesome to know. Im just scared and want to prevent it, cause this clowns ify right now and have had to fish a couple other clowns out of the overflow box previous to this.

I think i found my answer on the epoxy its called aquascape. Hoping it will work for what I need it for. Still not sure how or what to use for the grate itself but that shouldnt be that hard if I go lowes and look around. I didnt mean to bug ya all or waste your time when reading this cause I know there are others that need advice. Sorry about this all I had to do was use my noodle instead of geeking out like I did.

Gutter guard works well here. Depending on the overflow, wrapping it around will keep them from getting sucked in.

I just covered mine with eggcrate.
Then I put a piece of heat proof phenolic over that to block the light from the halides.

My over flow is about a 5 1/2 inch square. This is what I came up with and hoping I did right. Now not.sure what you mean by eggcrate but what I got was a retangle of the ceiling tile that has the square holes and plastic corner framing stuff to study it from the inside and this ic - gel it says ethyl cyanoacrylate gel as the glue from rjs aquarium. Said its the best they used so keep your fingers crossed for me lol. Oh and being the cieling tile with the square holes has holes that my fish can fall thru I got this gutter guard with small diamond shaped holes to go ontop of the cieling tile.
