Clown Fish Dead!!

I recenlty bought two clownfish and they both died! The question i ask is i fed them sinkable pellets, brine shrimp, and algae with garlic could the pellets be to big for them to eat because they would put them in their mouth and then spit it back out?

Sorry to hear this.

How long were they in the tank and what was their behavior? The pellets may not have been to big, they may have just not liked them.

I lost one of the two Clowns I purchased for my tank. Drip acclimated them both, they came from the same tank at the LFS, but both fish were dramatically different in their behavior once they got into my tank. One fish was eating right away, the other wouldn't touch a think. I did the pellets and brine like you did. Two days later I found the Clown wrapped around my powerhead. Sad morning. That day I went back to the lfs and grabbed another Clown from the same tank and that one is happy and healthy. I don't have much experience but maybe the Clown was unhealthy before you got him. My clowns spit their food back out when they are done eating.

How recently? It wasn't the pellets. Post full tank parameters as well as a description of the tank and age.

From my expereince with clowns is if they spit it out they don't like it and won't eat it. Mine will only eat mysis shrimp and spits everything else out so thats all he gets. I would stop feeding them anything they are spitting out to help control nutrient levels in you display.
