feather duster lost its duster. What the H

So the onlything new to this tank is i added a emerald crab 3 days ago. I have never had emeralds ever mess with any dusters. The duster was flat out OFF. the worm is still in the tube but the whole duster was off and just sitting on the sand. Any Ideas? never seen the duster ever just fall off. it didnt look riped or torn or munched on or anything. ever have that happen? little bit upset about this.

They do that sometimes. Not much you can do but leave them be.

Its usually from stress. Test your water and make sure that nothing is bothering it. If you don't eliminate the stress, it won't grow a new one and will just die.

From what I've read, the stress that is causing the shedding is generaly starvation. They may regrow and shed several times before the worm actually dies. If you have pristene water you might try target feeding. Good luck
