Old lighting fixture...will it work now???

Hi,

I have an old MH lighting fixture that I'm not too sure about (it holds 2MH and 2 fluorescent tubes). The ballast itself I'm pretty sure is hidden away in the hood and the sockets say 4Kv pulse rated Triboro. I have never changed the bulb out in these before, but I do know that the last lights used were 175W Coralife (the screw in type) 5500K.

Basically I want to use this fixture, if possible, over my 120g, but I don't think that it will be enough light for a reef (with some SPS). So my main question is whether or not I'll be able to put in a higher wattage bulb into those sockets to get more light out of the fixture???

Thanks in advance for the feedback :-)

Actually sorry....not even 2 seconds after this post did I have the bright idea to check another location on the hood....basically the ballast is rated for 175W so thats probably all I can use.

Found my answer

to switch to 250 watt bulbs means you will also need to get 250 watt MH ballasts also. you have to match the wattage of the bulb with the ballasts.

Right I figured that lol...I feel stupid for not looking around the entire fixture for some sort of marking explaining the specs before posting on here, I was a bit overzealous.

Sorry about that and thanks for the feedback
