Acrylic stand for my skimmer
Hello,
I need to have a nice acrylic stand made for my skimmer. Does anyone know who might be able to make one of these for me? |

make it yourself, just go to lowes and have them cut sheets of the size you want and glue them together. its very simple.

It's easy to build one. You can get weld-on from a local plastic supplier in your area. The acrylic you can get at HD or lowes. doesn't need to be thick. I built one, but I would suggest drilling many holes in it for flow underneath, something I wish I did first time around. About once a month I have to pull the skimmer and stand and clean out underneath.

Just use some egg crate and PVC fittings. If you don't have Weldon you can wire tie them together.

I would make one myself, but I don't have a way of cutting the pieces exactly how I would like them. Does anyone cut acrylic?

I was in the same boat. Hit the Lowes and smallest acrylic they sold in decent thickness ran around $17.00, and then a tube of Weld-on was $13.00. I called a couple of LFS to see if they would throw something together out of scrap, ( I needed 8X8X2 high), found one close that would do it for $20.00. So give a couple of your local guys a call and see what they might come up with.
