Getting pods in the new fuge???
I just pulled out the old Wet-Dry (8 months old) and switched to a DIY 3 compartment sump , with a separate skimmer compartment and fuge. I have 5 mangroves plants in a shallow plastic holder in the top of the fuge and about 3 handfuls of Chaeto under the lights in the rest of the fuge.
I want to get the copepods going. What's the best way? Should I just buy a bottle of Dr. G's (or similar) liquid copepods (I believe they are live) and dump the whole bottle into the fuge, which is a 10 gallon aquarium that sits inside a 20-30 gallon Rubbermaid tub. Other ideas?

Lots of equipment left over from the 140 gallon tank teardown. Oct 21st was a sad day. Wife said I would have to get a new wife to get a new tank. I'm sure gonna miss the wife. Current Tank Info: No tank, no fish, no coral :( |

That will work, or get a little chaeto from someone who has pods.

when people put pods in the fuge to grow to feed lets say a mandarin for example, how do they get the pods to the aquarium for feeding? (I'm about to start my first reef and would like to keep a mandarin at some point but heard of their difficult feeding)

Most copepods are small enough to make it through the return pump with little difficulty. So they just get sprayed into the tank through the return.

That's what I did. In about a month my tank was swarming with pods!

They make it through the pump. What I do is when I trim my cheato since it grows like crazy, I take that lump I cut off and shake it into my tank to let the pods go too. I don't want to waste
