Advice on Skimmer purchase

I have a 55g tall column SW tank. I have a sump but not enough clearance to put in a skimmer. Im looking for a HOB style.

It's come down to AquaC Remora or the Deltec MCE 300.

Any opinions or advice?

I would go with the Remora Pro version with the Mag pump versus the regular Remora with the maxijet pump if you end up going the Remora route.

I appreciate the response. Have you ever used a remora?

The deltec or a octopus. Definitely not a remora.

+1 octopus, Remoras are Ok. I hate not being able to see whats going on in my skimmer. I have used a couple but would even prefer a simple Bak-Pak over a remora. The pro is nice. You could even probabally find one used for a decent deal.

How do you like your SOL blue? I'm still waiting on mine...Grrrrrrrr

I've never tried the MCE300, but I've been using the MCE600 for about 3years now - fantastic piece of equipment.

The Remora isn't even in the same league as the Deltec.
