Skimmers

Is it possible to do a HOB skimmer on your sump?

Sure. You may need to tinker some with water level needs.

You'll have to watch out for hieght clearance depending on the hieght of your sump. As many HOBs could hang lower then the tank and if the sump is on the ground that would be a problem.

yes but as stated above there will be a constant water level issue unless you use an auto top-off system.
