My light broke!!!! help

i ordered a new light this weekand mine happened to burn out today. can i use a regular grow buld from home depot for now? help

i think you should be fine with out any lights. for a few days at least. the grow bulbs at home depot are for terrestrial plants (land plants) if you are looking for a bulb you could go to your LFS or just wait till your new one arrives.

ps. my tank has been without light for nearly 3 weeks and nothing has died off.

I have completely blacked out a tank loaded will all sorts of corals for 7 days. You should be fine as long as the tank is healthy.

While you can get by for awhile on some tanks, I did have one crash and almost everything died. I don't remember the exact length because it has been some years since then, but it was a domino effect; One or two corals died, and then everyone followed from there. While the grow light probably sucks, it has to be better than nothing at all. Just make sure to get the new one in asap
