cycle q

i might set up a 20g nano soon and i would use rock and water from my 420g reef and i was wondering how long i would need to cycle it

Testing daily will tell you when it's ready but I wouldn't use any water from the other tank, it won't help the cycle along. I would imagine if you use rock from the other tank your cycle could be less then a week.

I also setup a small 2-3 gallon nano and used cured rock from my other tank. cycle was minimal, 2-3 days maybe. may take longer to 'break' in the new tank.
