Nano LED Fixture

I have been researching lighting fixtures for my ten gallon reef tank, and I stumbled upon Marinelands LED Reef Capable Fixtures.

http://www.marinedepot.com/Marinelan...FILDFX-vi.html

The 18-24 inch fixture comes with 18 watts of 10,000 K and 3 watts of the 460nm blue led's. I was just wondering if this fixture is enough to support LPS corals and SPS corals for my ten gallon? My tank is around 11-11.5 inches deep.

I'm not sure, but I'd like to know. I know most LEDs used in DIY fixtures are 3W LEDs, these are only 1W. It might also be pretty white with only 3 blue LEDs. There's gotta be someone out there that has tried this light though.

I don't have any personal experience, but from what I read in other posts, at best they can support softies, and maybe verty limited LPS. Do a marineland LED search and there are a few threads. Good luck...

I would guestimate being the equivalent of about a 70 watt MH. I don't know if that is enough for a 10 gallon, but I doubt it.

I wasn't really going to go with the LED, but since it is the "new" thing, I was just researching. I'm pretty sure 48 watts of T5 HO is enough for LPS in my ten gallon.
Thanks a bunch!

70W seems like plenty of MH for a 10G to me. That's a very shallow tank.

My fixture isn't the 70 watt MH, its a 21 watt LED fixture. I was just wondering if it would be enough for LPS corals?

I really do not see this fixture being able to support sps in a smaller tank. It depends on optics and height above tank.

i was trying to give a comparison. I don't know MH I went from T8/12 (boo) to LEDs. But if you take the above comments together then the fixture seems like it should work.

Marineland claims these have a PAR of about 150 12"s down. Assuming that's correct, you'll be perfectly find with LPS.
That being said, IMO, these fixtures don't have enough blue LEDs to make them look all that good when compared to a lot of the other LED fixtures. If you don't mind not having as big a pop as with a lot of other fixtures, then this may work out. It's also only a single power chord with a switch, so you can't put them on a timer.
