Frag Tank Lighting Schedule
What is the best schedule to use? On for 12 off for 12? Can actinics be left on 24-7?
I am using PC lighting in a shallow 30 gallon tank...for softies and LPS. Any insight appreciated. |

I'd use a lighting schedule similar to the tank the frags came from. If these are purchased frags and not "home-made," light them the same way you would if you were putting them in your display.
I wouldn't provide light for more than 12 hours a day.

Actinics for 10-12 hours maximum with full lighting for 7-8 hours in the middle promotes maximum growth. Corals must have time without lights.
