What's goin on with these corals?

I have this rock that had these pretty green and orange zoas on it. It looks like it has come under attack by these other things (palys maybe). I don't know what the gray looking things are but they are taking over this rock and they are not nearly as nice looking as the other zoas.
What are these things and what do I need to do to save the green and orange zoas?

You have two colonies fighting for that space. Zoos will do that too. You can move them to a different rock and let them repopulate that rock away from the intruder!

Cool. Thanks. So, should I "cut" the zoos off that rock with a razor and glue them to a new rock? Would that be the best method? I've never fragged anything!

If you don't want to cut the polyps you want off the rock, glue a frag plug right next to the polyps you want and let them grow up on it. If the unwanted polyps are in the way just glue the plug right over them. When you pull the plug they will grow right back in fairly quick.

Well that's a pretty cool idea.

I had the sme situation with the exact same zoos and palys and the palys wiped out the zoos. There were a couple undred zoos and ony one or two palys now I have lots of palys and no zoos. The palys will take over your tank if you are not careful. Keep them isolated on Islands in the sand. Plus , becareful The palys have a very strong palytoxin which is very dangerous. Take safety precautions if you are working with them . Gloves and goggles.

Here is a pic of the old colony where you can see the two palys in the lower right corner.

Same rock now
