Rcomendations needed for sump, skimmer and return pump

Hello guys!

I'm looking to get some advice to order my sump/ refugium, skimmer and return pump for my new reef system.

So far this is what I have in mind...

My new tank is a 75G rimless 48" X 18" X 20", one 1" drain one 3/4" return that I'll will split in two using modular pipe (lockline).

Underneath I'm thinking to order:

- Trigger Systems Ruby Elite30, 30 X 16 X 15, Total Water Volume: 28.7 gallons, Operating Water Volume: 16.7 gallons

- Extreme XS 160 Protein Skimmer, Rated up to 160gal.

- EHEIM 1250 or 1260 (have not decided yet)

The sump looks nice, but the only thing is that from the refugium the waters flows in to the skimmer chamber and then to the return. I think it would be better that the water will flow from the refugium to the return on one side and then from the skimmer area to the return on the other side.

About the Eheim will be 1250 if I don't run any other media reactor and a 1260 if I connect it the to a couple of media reactors.

Your thoughts will be greatly appreciated

Are you doing the 30" or the 36" version?

I'm not sure if I can fit the 36" through the door opening. I have room in the stand jus not sure bout the door clearance. Gona make a cardboard box the same size and see if I can get it in there

I have the ruby 30S model for my 50 gallon reef and it is a great sump, very well made, super sturdy and plenty of room for a lot of gadgets. I currently have my skimmer in chamber one, cheato and nextreef media reactor with carbon in chamber 2 and return pump and 2 heaters in chamber 3. I am glad I bought it since I can def. use it if I decide to upgrade my tank to something bigger. As for a skimmer I have the reef octopus super space saver 1000, I am really liking it, does its job nicely and its super quiet.

I just ordered the SRO2000 so I'm in the market for a bigger sump/fuge.

Yeah, I looked at that model, and it looks great. There's a guy on youtube that give a really detail review on that sump.

The 30" long is perfect. I could fit the 36" version, but I want to leave enough space underneath my tank to set my future 2 part station and RO tank to set an ATO.
