Gill Flukes?????

So I have a 55 gallon tank that currently houses an ocellaris clown, a mystery wrasse, flame angel, bi color blenny, and a pink spotted goby. I have noticed that all the fish in the tank, except the clown will very sporadically rub themselves against the rocks. The goby will do this thing where he will swim really fast and then turn sideways and rub against the sand. There are no signs of white spots, or any other outward signs that the fish have any disease. All fish are eating and none appears to be breathing heavily. Could this possibly be gill flukes? And should I treat with prazipro as a preventative? Is there any outward signs that I should be looking for and could have missed? or is this normal behavior?

Just for good measure tank params are:

SG- 1.025
Amm- 0
Nitrite-0
Nitrate- 10
Alk- 9.9
pH- 8.4
Ca- 470
Mg- 1470

Thanks for your help.

just because you don't see any white spots doesn't mean your fish don't have ich. it could be in the gills. it could be gill flukes it could be something else.

I'll put my penny on ick. What else do you have in the tank? If it's just rock and no corals perhaps your best option is a hypo-salinity treatment in your current tank. If you have corals or inverts I'd suggest moving the rock/coral/inverts to a separate tank and still do the hypo in your main tank.

As Lynn said not seeing spots isn't an accurate measure. The white speck is just present for a short period during the parasites life cycle. There are a couple excellent threads on the subject...I have the links on a flash drive somewhere...(looking)...perhaps someone has them handy. I think one was on reef sanctuary?

No corals in the tank, I do have a CUC though snails and hermits. Do you think I should treat or just wait and see what happens? The fish are not rubbing all the time it is very sporadic I only see it maybe once a day.

How are they doing now?

Personally, I'd treat the fish.
